President of Mongolia Khaltmaa Battulga, Ambassador Lundeg Purevsuren, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN, and Deputy Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg recently met with ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½to support Mongolia reaching its full potential in transit and transport.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Secretary General, Umberto de Pretto complemented the President for his efforts to turn Mongolia from a landlocked country into a landlinked country through the application of tried and tested UN conventions, including the TIR convention, and encouraged Mongolia to continue to accede to other key UN conventions. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½also highlighted the importance of transport agreements concluded with Russia and China.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½affirmed its readiness to provide respective services and capacity building initiatives to support Mongolia¡¯s competent national authorities and the Mongolian road transport industry, in partnership with IRU¡¯s national association NARTAM, to drive trade, prosperity and ultimately peace in the region.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½concluded the meeting by inviting the Mongolian delegation to the upcoming ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½World Congress in Muscat Oman.
