Adopted in the context of a tremendous increase in fuel prices, this ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Resolution stresses the irreplaceable role of road transport in today¡¯s economy and its dependence on oil. The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½urges governments and intergovernmental institutions to acknowledge road transport as a vital production tool and to stop penalising it through heavy and discriminatory fiscal and tax burdens. It particularly encourages, amongst other things, the introduction of a single professional fuel duty.
